glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-1 Team.NEG > Skull Gaming

I’ve heard a lot of discussion lately around the Source community about this Skull Gaming team, specifically that they’ve put up some good numbers in scrims against top teams. Just based off of comments scattered across various forums and IRC that I have read, Skull has put in a lot of practice time as of late. With recognizable names like hauNt and chewbacca, this line-up has potential for success.

Nonetheless, I’m not sure how much Skull’s preparation will help them against NEG’s stacked roster. DirtySecreT, nikon, deciple and REMiX all on one team? Impressive. I see NEG being one of the teams that makes it to the top 10 and earns a place in CEVO-P. I think Skull might be able to pull off a win on the first map (unless the map selected heavily favors NEG) but momentum will swing in NEG’s favor as they take the next to maps.

Guest Prediction by paradox (San Francisco Optx):
2-0 Team.NEG > Skull Gaming

“Initially I would say NEG will take it in 3 but looking more closely at the roster, I have to coin them as a high-energy, momentum-based team. Going with that logic it’s either all or nothing. Skull has fundamentally sound leadership in Chewbacca and a lineup capable of upsets. I’m going to go with the battle-tested and familiar lineup in NEG and say they take it 2-0. The match on Skull’s chosen map should be close while NEG will runaway with it on their map assuming they have choice of sides. NEG 13-10, 13-7.”

Group A:
justBALLS, Chicago Chimera, KEYBOARD SMASHERS, Just Cause Project, icon

KEYBOARD SMASHERS vs. Chicago Chimera
– KEYBOARD SMASHERS PTW: Glockateer
– Chicago Chimera PTW: shaffer
Sunday, October 5 – 10:30pm CDT
* SourceTV: tbd
* Scorebot: #keyboardsmashers , #chicagochimera

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-0 Chicago Chimera > KEYBOARD SMASHERS
- The first “big” test for Chimera’s new pick-up, shaffer as Chicago has not had a difficult match-up yet in CGS Pro-Am. From what I’ve heard, the team has been doing well with him in scrims. Tonight should be no different.

Just Cause Project vs. icon
– Just Cause Project PTW: DARKO
– icon PTW: kosei
Sunday, October 5 – 8:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: tv2.quantum-servers.com:3002
* Scorebot: #jcp , #icon.css

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-1 icon > jCp
- Both teams went 0-2 in their opening round, each coming close in the first map and losing by a large margin in the second. This should be a closer match-up tonight. The winner may likely be determined by which team starts on the favorable side for 2 of the 3 maps. Just for predictions sake, I’ll go with icon winning in 3, but wouldn’t be surprised if jCp came out on top instead.

Group B:
Dynamic, San Francisco Optx, Fighting Bears, Carnage, eX

Fighting Bears vs. San Francisco Optx
– Fighting Bears PTW: Cr0nus
– San Francisco Optx PTW: Grt
Sunday, October 5 – 8:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: tbd
* Scorebot: #no-namers , #optx

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-0 San Francisco Optx > Fighting Bears
- I haven’t had the opportunity to watch ‘Fighting Bears’ play yet… but there is no reason why this the Optx should have any trouble here. I see two quick and easy matches for SanFran.

Carnage vs. eX
– Carnage PTW: Foerster
– eX PTW: flash3
Sunday, October 5 – 9:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: tbd
* Scorebot: #carnage , #exegaming

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-0 Carnage > eX
- While I’ve known of the eX team for quite some time, I’m not too familiar with their current line-up. From what I know about Carnage, I don’t think they put in too much practice time. eX may be more prepared for this, but I see old-school talent in HeliX, AC and Foerster on Carnage winning out here.

Group C:
CyberRevolution, LA compLexity, EZ5, stormaKt, eXult

CyberRevolution vs. EZ5
– CyberRevolution PTW: zDk-
– EZ5 PTW: UTP
* SourceTV: nearcry-sourcetv.hd-gaming.com:3090
* Scorebot: #cyberrevolution , #EZ5

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-1 CyberRevolution > EZ5

stormaKt vs. eXult
– stormaKt PTW: mav0
– eXult PTW: Smedegard
Sunday, October 5 – 9:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: 76.74.150.201:27023
* Scorebot: #stormaKt , #exult

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-1 eXult > stormaKt
- Not too familiar with either team, but I don’t see either team dominating the other. I think the map selection and sides will be a big factor in determining the momentum in this match-up. I’ll wage a guess and say eXult will take it in 3.

Group D:
Skull Gaming, 3D.NY, GH, viNdictive, Team.NEG

Skull Gaming vs. Team.NEG

3D.NY vs. viNdictive
– 3D.NY PTW: method
– viNdictive PTW: TerroR
Sunday, October 5 – 9:30pm CDT
* SourceTV: tbd
* Scorebot: #team3d , #viN

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-0 3D.NY > viNdictive
- Sorry viNdictive. 3D has this one by a long shot. The only way I can see 3D being slighty off tonight is if juan is still devastated from both the Brewers and Packers losing on the same day and refuses to call strats.

Group E:
PK, vANSKAP, Mug N Mouse, Hyper, Mexico City Furia

PK vs. Mexico City Furia
– PK PTW: pNo
– Mexico City Furia PTW: v1koo
Sunday, October 5 – 7:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: 74.63.69.13:27020
* Scorebot: #furia , #teampk

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-0 PK > Mexico City Furia
- Furia is currently playing their Round 3 match
(vs. Mug N Mouse) prior to Round 2 and lost 3-9 while on CT side of de_train. That is not a good sign at all. Is dEiMON not awping anymore? He should. He was impressive vs. Salvo during the CGS World Finals. PK should have this one if Furia continues to play the way they are vs. Mug N Mouse.

vANSKAP vs. Hyper
– vANSKAP PTW: Polar
– Hyper PTW: Daemos
Monday, October 6 – 11:00pm CDT
* SourceTV: tbd
* Scorebot: #vanskap , #teamhyper

glhf LIVE Prediction:
2-1 vANSKAP > Hyper
- I think a win for vANSKAP would be an upset here but with a 13-0 win over Furia combined with sub-par performance at CORE Lan this weekend in Montreal, vANSKAP might be able to pull it off. I would have expected Hyper to get nothing less than 1st this weekend. Taking into account Hypermay be exhausted from a weekend of lanning, the team will really need to give it a good effort to overtake vANSKAP. Even if Hyper loses, they should still have no troubles advancing to double elim.
